HUE at DIAGE Bangkok: A Red Circle in the Dark

HUE's audiovisual performance at DIAGE 2026, Cloud 11 Bangkok. A field note on colour, silhouettes and scale, with my own footage from the AV Stage.

A large orange-red circle fills the wall behind the performers. A person becomes a small dark silhouette against it. Along the bottom of the frame, the audience forms another row of shapes.

That image stays clear even when the recording stops.

HUE performed on the Audiovisual Stage at DIAGE 2026, at Cloud 11 in Bangkok. My footage moves through words, geometric figures, red and yellow patterns, and moments when the image becomes much simpler.

The room gives it scale

The circle occupies enough of the wall to change how the people in front of it look. Their bodies become a measure of its size.

The ceiling, equipment and seated audience remain visible. Those details matter. They let you understand the distance between the projection, the performers and the people watching.

The image belongs to a particular room. Its proportions become more interesting because the room is still there.

What survives a single frame

The circle is only one moment in a changing performance. Around it, the imagery becomes denser and more elaborate.

In that quieter composition, three elements remain easy to read: a warm field of colour, a dark silhouette and enough empty space to separate them.

A recording lets you return to those small decisions. Something that passed in seconds becomes available to look at properly.
